This webinar, co-hosted by the National Collaborating Centres for Aboriginal Health (NCCAH) and Healthy Public Policy (NCCHPP) was organized for the 10th anniversary of the death of Brian Sinclair, an Anishinaabe man who died after waiting for treatment at Winnipeg's Health Sciences Centre Emergency Room for 34 hours. This was an opportunity to discuss the story of Brian Sinclair in the context of the history of the city of Winnipeg, and the history of health care in the province of Manitoba, and to critically examine anti-Indigenous racism.

The Centre presented a 3-hour session introducing public health ethics at the University of Waterloo's School of Public Health and Health Systems. In preparation for this session, we updated and reformulated much of the introductory material that we have developed over the last five years.

The Centre held this day-long workshop for the 14th JASP (Journées annuelles de santé publique - annual public health days) on November 24, 2010, at the Centre des Congrès de Québec. The workshop explored the foundations and the theoretical and practical implications of ethical reflection in public health in Quebec.
